Overview
Fiton
Technologies Corp. (Pink Sheets:FITNF) is a Canadian headquartered environmental
remediation firm, which has the exclusive worldwide license to use
the Fiton process, a breakthrough bioremediation technology called
biocatalysis, to remove a wide spectrum of contaminants in soil,
sediments, sludges, water and a variety of industrial effluents.
The company operates remediation programs in numerous countries
including Canada, USA and Bermuda.
Bioremediation
Bioremediation is the cornerstone in
Fitons repertoire of remediation technologies and has been
an accepted treatment process that uses naturally occurring microorganisms
(usually bacteria) to break down, (or degrade), hazardous
substances into less toxic or nontoxic substances. Microorganisms,
like humans, eat and digest organic substances for nutrients and
energy. Certain bacteria can digest organic substances such as fuels
or solvents that are hazardous to humans. They break down these
organic contaminants into harmless products (primarily carbon dioxide
and water).
Once
the contaminants are degraded and the nutrients are depleted, the
bacteria population declines sharply to their pre-treatment levels.
The end products pose no contamination risk.
Biocatalysis
Redefining Bioremediation
Fiton
Technologies has integrated third generation family horticultural
secrets with fundamental research and innovative engineering applications
to produce a proprietary breakthrough bioremediation technology
called Biocatalysis.
The
breakthrough effectiveness of Biocatalysis has given Fiton
Technologies a true technology lead in terms of speed,
price and efficacy in the quest for environmentally benign, community-friendly
solutions. We can achieve in days or weeks what normally would take
months or years. Our bioremediation process uses natural acclimated
microbes and proprietary nutrients including a biostimulant called
Fiton to convert organic contaminants, which are sometimes complex
and toxic, to simple inorganics, such as carbon dioxide and water.
The biocatalysis process has been described broadly as cold-burning
due to its unmatched speed.
The
biostimulant, Fiton, is the trade-secreted mixture
that is the key to biocatalysis. Fiton is a colorless liquid
nutrient which fosters the rapid replication of microbes and also
enables them to function under aerobic and hypoxic conditions, where
oxygen is scarce or practically non-existent. Fiton enables microbes
to perform a series/combination of biochemical reactions not easily
achievable by conventional means. The use of Fiton accelerates biochemical
activities by several orders of magnitude and thus enables cleanups
to be completed in relatively short time frames.
