recent projects
  1. In-situ sediment and Water Remediation
The company successfully completed in three weeks the first phase of a cleanup project in Bermuda. The project entailed the bioremediation of PCB, PAH and a variety of petroleum products in sediments in a canal which had been contaminated for over 50 years. The canal empties into the ocean.

  2. Industrial Waste / By-product Treatment
Continuous treatment of (i) oily and grease sludges (TPH 400,000-800,000 ppm) and (ii) Ethylene and Diethylene Glycols (500,000 ppm) down to less than 10 ppm to generate clean water for recycle and re-use in one of Canada’s largest steel making plants.

  3. Acid Mine Drainage / Tailings Treatments
Pilot project to treat acid mine drainage / tailings spill from the Boliden Mine in Spain (1998). The pilot project used a series of tanks to act as natural / engineered ponds. The tailings slurry flowed by gravity progressively from a reservoir into tanks 1 through 5. The concentration of metals in the effluent out of tank 5 showed a 45-almost 100% removal of individual metals in the influent from the reservoir in a two (2) hour residence time. The longer the residence time, the better the efficacy.
The metals extracted were:

Arsenic (As)
Copper (Cu)
Manganese (Mn)

Cadmium (Cd)
Iron (Fe)
Nickel (Ni)

Chromium (Cr)
Lead (Pb)
Zinc (Zn)
